Sean is very upset he doesn’t have the additional $6,525 To be able to provide the additional 1,185 onesies that were applied for.
Sean is passionate about helping new parents accept their babies when they are born with Down syndrome and wants to do everything he can to encourage and inspire them.
Included with his “Awesome is on the 21st Chromosome” designed onesie is a letter that Sean wrote to encourage and inspire the new parents who will receive the gifts. Sean wants new parents to know that his life is awesome and their baby’s life will be awesome too if they don’t give up on their dreams. It is much more powerful coming from someone with Down syndrome, than anyone else. Sean’s hope is that the letter will instill hope in the new parents and give them the motivation to access the available services through their state agencies to help their baby grow to live an independent life like Sean’s.
This project began when Sandra was certain that Sean was going to see the story out of Iceland https://www.cbsnews.com/news/down-syndrome-iceland/ and felt it was better that he hear it from her than on social media. https://youtu.be/Hy951pkpN0k
The reason some parents mourn the birth of a baby with Down syndrome is usually because their physicians give them outdated information on what the life of a person with Down syndrome will hold. There are currently estimated less than 400,000 people with Down syndrome in the United States. Most people don’t know anyone with Down syndrome, and sadly many medical professionals don’t either and when they deliver the diagnosis they give parents the worse-case scenarios and suck every ounce of hope out of them. Nothing Down’s “Dear Doctor” Video confirms the heartbreak that many parents experience when given the worse-case-scenarios during the delivery of the diagnosis www.nothingdown.org/deardoctor —and most parents go through a period of grieving the baby they thought they were having.
Sean has recorded Utube Video requests asking that Ellen https://youtu.be/j1QHetf7bKk and Steve Harvey https://youtu.be/JdZB0ONdZ0 to help him to be able to donate the additional 1,185 onesies to the other 33 Down syndrome Organizations that applied. He needs an additional $6,525. He could use your help by posting Ellen’s Video request to her facebook page https://www.facebook.com/ellentv/
And Steve Harvey’s Video Request to his website at http://stevetv.com/beontheshow/6-want-to-be-a-guest-on-steve
Sean’s program of donating $1 from each item purchased from his website seanese.com will continue and applications will be accepted again in November 2019. Sean is hoping to have a banner year and be able to fully fund all onesies applied for in the future himself.
