Special Olympics Changes Society by Changing Attitudes. When Society misunderstands and underestimates the capabilities of people with Intellectual Disabilities, opportunities are lost. Jobs, friendships, and respect are all lost. It is Special Olympics’ mission to show the world the true nature of people with Intellectual disabilities.
